Memorial Villages

Peaceful luxury neighborhoods with access to the finest of Houston

Welcome to Memorial

Memorial is known as a “super neighborhood” in Houston. Within Memorial lies The Memorial Villages, which is an affluent enclave within Houston composed of six independent, upscale municipal areas—Spring Valley Village, Bunker Hill Village, Piney Point Village, Hunters Creek Village, Hedwig Village, and Hilshire Village.

These villages began as rural farmlands, and in an attempt to keep their pastoral lifestyle and quiet residential atmosphere, they petitioned to incorporate and become cities in their own right, starting with Hunters Creek Village in 1954. The area was able to maintain its tranquility while still gaining the advantages of the growing commercial and retail developments around it.

Each village has a unique style and character, which is reflected in its architecture. The strict laws surrounding deeds means the area is mostly residential, with businesses limited to the outer borders of the towns. Housing here is set in lush, wooded areas and is replete with lavish, upscale homes that include mansion-style chateaus and modern single-family houses. Luxurious condominiums are also available, where privacy and beauty are prioritized.

What to Love

People & Lifestyle

The Memorial Super Neighborhood has around 47,000 residents, while The Memorial Villages are home to approximately 26,000. The area trends towards a family-centered population, with the majority of residents owning single-family homes and working in white-collar jobs.

Those who favor a reliance on tradition, a dedication to family values, peaceful neighborhoods, and easy access to one of the world’s greatest urban centers will find that The Memorial Villages provide the perfect place to call home.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Though each village has distinct options when it comes to retail and dining, one of the biggest draws of The Memorial Villages is their proximity to the expansive opportunities within Houston itself. The Memorial City Mall has over 100 stores and restaurants, including popular brands such as Express, Gap, Coach, and Aerie. If you’re still craving some retail therapy, visit the famous Houston Premium Outlets for even more deals on designer favorites.

Just like how Houston is well-established as a renowned culinary center, Memorial is also a heaven for foodies and connoisseurs. Izakaya Wa is a beautiful homage to Japanese culture that serves authentic fare within an environment dedicated to relaxation and fun. At Kuu Restaurant, Japanese cuisine is also on the menu—but with a modern flair spearheaded by Chef Adison Lee. For international cuisine blended with Texas comfort classics, try Johnathan’s The Rub and fall in love with their inspired, delicious menu.

Things to Do

Set in the bustling metropolis of Houston, The Memorial Villages have access to a cornucopia of activities and events. One convenient perk of living in this residential area is the close vicinity to one of the nation’s largest urban parks, Memorial Park. Larger than even Central Park in New York City, Memorial Park offers trails and hiking, food trucks, indoor recreational facilities, golf courses, playgrounds, picnic areas, and more.

On the western edge of Memorial Park lies the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, a sanctuary of the natural world amongst the urban hustle of the city. The center is devoted to education and preservation and has several learning programs for children and families alike.

The Villages Independence Festival is an annual Fourth of July celebration that includes a parade, food, live music, and a chance to come together as a community. In the city of Houston, you’ll find larger events like the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo or the ever-lively Texas Renaissance Festival.
